👋 Hi, I’m Torben

I’m a Senior Backend Engineer at awork, currently based in Hamburg, Germany. I’m passionate about crafting resilient, reliable, and robust software systems, with a strong focus on .NET C# and system design. I love tackling new challenges that push me to grow as an engineer and create impactful solutions for the future.

💻 My professional journey spans several years, with experience working in dynamic environments across different industries. I believe in continuously expanding my knowledge in both platform-agnostic and language-agnostic concepts, making sure to stay ahead of the curve. I’m also learning Rust 🦀 and advancing my expertise in system design and architecture.

👨‍💻 I enjoy attending tech meetups and conferences 📅 — whether big or small — to meet new people, listen to interesting talks, and broaden my knowledge in the tech space.

🌍 When I’m not behind the keyboard, you’ll likely find me out in nature 🌲. I’m originally from Husum, right by the North Sea 🌊, but now call Hamburg my home. I love hiking and keeping active with sports like soccer ⚽, American football 🏈, and basketball 🏀.

Tipperoo — an ad-free, betting-free football prediction game for friends, families and workplaces, launching for the 2026/27 Bundesliga and Premier League season. A Rust ingestion-and-scoring engine behind a Next.js app, and a great excuse to go deep on data correctness and system design.
